Mark H. Szyman, aka Top, is a retired U.S. Army Military Police Master Sergeant. Top has held positions of increasing responsibility and leadership in a near 25-year career. His last assignments included First Sergeant (1SG) of Military Police Company, U.S. Army Pacific Chemical Command; 1SG Company A, Special Troops Battalion, Fort Sam Houston; and culminating as the Provost Sergeant Major, Law Enforcement Command (Provisional), Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Top also became a Licensed Texas Peace Officer and held a commission for 2 years with Bexar County Fire Marshal's Office.
Top's most cherished position was as a military working dog handler.
After his military retirement, Top worked as a field program manager for Chenega Corporation providing armed security for military installations at their access control points and then took a position as an emergency operations center watch officer with Fort Sam Houston's Garrison Command.
Top is a life member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars; life member of the National Rifle Association (NRA); Sons of the American Revolution; Life member of OathKeepers; Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree; NRA Credentialed Pistol Instructor and otherwise nice guy.
When Top isn't training someone to shoot, he loves two-stepping with his lovely wife, Valerie, who resides with him in Northwest Harris County, Texas. All of his children are adults and serving their county or community.
